i've been thinking about going into the forest, isolating one
cubic meter from there and making an inventory of everything that
can be found inside that.

Identifying insects is the challenge. That's why I've been looking for relevant info on them recently.

i'd like to get to smaller detail, microscopical stuff, etc.. that's why i'm thinking that one cubic meter might be too much..

we didn't have anything like that in yläaste in the 90s..

start with 10x10cm area in case you want to go to miniscule details. analysing 100x100cm takes some time.

Are you going to dig into the ground, scrutinizing the soil?

I would analyze 1000l air.
